Our lives and times together were hard. It's a miracle we made it through. The last three years with you had been the best. When the walls tumbled down, our hearts opened and met. The deep empty holes in our hearts filled with honesty, validation and love, a struggle that lasted for forty years. I don't know if you had known your death was near, but I thank God for bringing us together with peace, love and understanding at last. I wish I could have had more time with you, but there was another plan. My time with you before, and up until the end has given me more than I can ever express. Mother, I love you with all my heart and soul. You were a very important part of my world. Mother, you always will be. So I want to thank you now, this day and I pray and hope all is well in your world, too. I love you, Mama.
