The organization and its mission:
To assure that comprehensive organ and tissue donation services are provided to the community, in an efficient and professional manner. This includes quality organ and tissue procurement, preservation, and distribution through a commitment to public and professional education, hospital development, and support to donor families. We are committed to the development of new and improved methods to continually assure that our goals are achieved. The mission of the NorthEast OPO is to improve quality of life through organ and tissue donation. Services are provided to the community in an efficient, professional, and ethical manner.

Unique or creative organ donation promotion strategies:
1) Education of primary care physicians

2) Care boxes for hospital staffs to provide mementos for families (e.g., locks of hair or a handprint.)

3) Grant to increase internal nursing commitment to donation which provides specialized training and support for specifically identified nurses.
