The organization and its mission:
LifeLink is an independent, nonprofit community service organization dedicated to the recovery and transplantation of organs and tissues. LifeLink operates under the authority of the Social Security Act, and in accordance with the National Organ Transplant Act passed by Congress in 1984. LifeLink undergoes federal recertification every two years and is audited by Medicare each year through the filing of detailed cost reports.

Unique or creative organ donation promotion strategies:
LifeLink of Florida and More Health, a health educational program with Tampa General Hospital, have developed a lesson for high school students about organ and tissue donation and transplantation. The lesson combines charts, color graphics, and photographs, demonstrations, and lectures, and is introduced with a nine-minute video featuring recipients, a waiting teen, and a donor mother. The lesson includes a comprehensive look at the major organs, and the effects of disease and abuse on the organs. Almost 3,400 students have received the lesson as of February 1998.
