Mission Statement

The Center for Donation & Transplant is dedicated to increasing organ and tissue donation by:

Center for Donation & Transplant is a not-for-profit organ and tissue donor program serving: northeast, parts of central and the southern tier of New York; & portions of Vermont and Massachusetts.
Center for Donation & Transplant, founded in 1972, is one of 60 federally designated organ procurement organizations. CDT is a member of United Network for Organ Sharing, which houses the national computer system of patients waiting for transplants. CDT is a also member of Association of Organ Procurement Organizations.

The primary function of CDT is to recover, preserve and transport vital organs to patients on the national waiting list. CDT is the primary source for organ and tissue donor information in the regions it serves. CDT is available for community and professional educational programs.
