The National Transplant Fund

National Transplant Fund (formerly National Heart Assist and Transplant Fund) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial, social and emotional support to patients needing organ transplants. The Fund offers modest emergency grants to eligible candidates to help offset immediate treatment related costs such as relocation, medications, home care, and transportation. NTF also counsels patients regarding the location and cost of transplant centers, other possible sources of financial assistance and fundraising opportunities within their communities. NTF, since 1983, has helped raise over five million dollars for transplant patients in 48 states. Acting as a trustee for locally raised funds NTF assures fiscal accountability and appropriate distrubution of those funds for medically associated expenses.

The NTF is planning to launch a web site late in January, 1996. Stay tuned to TransWeb for the URL!
