The Nation's Capital Area Chapter of TRIO is working to improve the quality of life of transplant candidates, recipients, and their families. TRIO provides support to its members in the areas of Awareness, Support, Education, and Advocacy. Membership in TRIO is available with regard to race, creed, color, general or national origin.
WHY JOIN TRIO?
AWARENESS -- Promote public awareness of the importance of organ and tissue donation and transplantation.
SUPPORT -- Receive and give support to transplant candidates, recipients and their families.
EDUCATION -- Receive current information on developments in transplantation, medications, social issues, and finances.
ADVOCACY -- Advocate for national and local legislative efforts to benefit transplant candidates, recipients and their families.

* Discounted registration to the Annual national TRIO Conference which brings together members of sharing, support, advocacy, and personal growth.
Provide support to transplant candidates and recipients and their families through liaison with local transplant centers.
Promote organ and tissue donation through speaking engagements and participation in local fairs.
Host Capitol Hill breakfast meetings to discuss legislative initiatives in transplantation and health care reform.
Provide a local newsletter to all members.
Health Care Professional - Transplant coordinators, doctors, social workers, nurses, and related transplant professionals.
Friends of TRIO -- Any person interested in organ transplantation.
Support Groups are being organized where there is a need and an interest.
