TRIO Mission Statement
Transplant Recipients International Organization (TRIO) is an
independent, non-profit, international organization committed to
improving the quality of life of transplant candidates, recipients, and
their families. TRIO, through a network of local chapters, serves its
members in the areas of support, advocacy, awareness, and
education.
Support: Provide support to transplant recipients, candidates, and
their families to help alleviate the stresses incumbent with the
transplant process. This support is provided through hospital visits,
phone calls, and other personal contacts as well as referral to other
organizations who can provide needed services.
Advocacy: Make the concerns and needs that affect the welfare of
TRIO members known to federal, state, and local government bodies.
Effectively communicate the views of TRIO members on issues in the
field of organ transplantation to the general public.
Awareness: Promote the importance of organ donor awareness and
transplantation through public speaking engagements and other
activities.
Education: Provide TRIO members with the latest information on
developments in transplantation and medications. Inform TRIO
members on initiatives in the transplantation field by federal, state
and local government bodies. Specific vehicles include guest speakers
at monthly meetings, a monthly newsletter and a resoul Be guide.
