The University of Utah

The University of Utah sits on the foothills of the Wasatch mountain range in Salt Lake City. It is located approximately 20 minutes from Salt Lake International Airport and 15 minutes from downtown. The campus is 1,495 acres in size and is home to over 27,000 students. Undeniably one of the most beautiful college campuses in the country, the "U" competes in Division I of the NCAA. All ten women's teams and the nine men's teams compete in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC).

Climate and Attire

Summer in Salt Lake City is pleasantly warm with average temperatures around 90 degrees and relatively no humidity during the day and lows around 60 degrees at night. Salt Lake City's official elevation is 4,330 feet. Casual and comfortable clothing is the preferred attire for the duration of the U.S. Transplant Games. Salt Lake City is very warm but dry during the day and comfortable at night so be sure to dress appropriately. The Opening and Closing Ceremonies and Celebration are casual, but dress is up to the individual and will range from festive evening wear to casual sporting attire adorned with the week's earned medals.
