About the U.S. Transplant Games
Attention All State of Michigan Organ Transplant
Recipients!
You are invited to become a member of Team Michigan and participate in the U.S. Transplant Games. The Games embrace the individual success and celebrate the second chance at life shared by all transplant recipients. They are held every other year in the United States, with the World Transplant Games in between. In 1998, the Games were held in Columbus, Ohio. There has been no decision on where the 2000 Games will be held as of yet. As soon as that information becomes available, it will be included here.
As a member of Team Michigan, you will meet other transplant recipients from across the nation! You will compete in the events of your choice and experience the thrill of the Olympic-style U.S. Transplant Games.
Come and be part of the excitement of Team Michigan. Join Team Michigan, and help us celebrate the miracle of organ transplantation.
The Fun You Can Have!
The U.S. Transplant Games are more than competition. It is a time to celebrate the gift of life and the miracle of organ transplantation. The Games begin with Opening Ceremonies and the lighting of the Games torch, followed by the traditional Athletes Welcome Celebration. In addition to the exciting competitions, there will be a special road race to promote organ donor awareness. The Games end with the spectacular Closing Ceremonies, where the Outstanding Male and female Athlete honors will be awarded, along with a final celebration for all athletes and their families.

The Games You Can Play
Whether you are an elite athlete or a couch potato, the U.S. Transplant Games has an activity for you. Compete for the gold, silver and bronze medals in both individual and team competitions. If you run, jump, swim or swing, you'll find it at the Games.

The primary goal of Team Michigan and the U.S. Transplant Games is to raise awareness of the miracle of organ donation and transplantation. By joining Team Michigan, you can serve as a torchbearer for the thousands of Americans currently on the waiting list to receive a lifesaving organ transplant.
