Love Lives On

by Tina Sherlock-Thompson

In February 1994 I lost my mother to an aneurism. She was loved by all and taken from us in an instant. No time for goodbyes or "I love you"... Just gone.

We donated her organs and in our grief we actually found one of the recipients of two of her organs. You can never know how much peace we have found in her death by knowing what a difference our loss made in someone else's life. I think other familes should have the opportunity to know the recipient. Knowing that this man is alive and well has brought us a small amount of peace in our grief-stricken lives. Our love for our mom will live on... in the lives of others.
