Suppose

Suppose I heard in the ageless wind

A voice that called my name,

Saying I could make a difference

With the time that still remains.

Suppose because of disbelief

These words I did not heed,

Then when my time had ended

I'd leave a world still full of need.

Suppose instead I listened,

Embracing every word,

And spending all my talents,

Till the wind you also heard.

Suppose you walked beside me,

A common goal now shared,

And know that all our efforts

Left a world that better fared.
