My happiness doesn't live here anymore
Bright young black man
gone to the
Promised Land

left in a Valley of Tears
To cross the Wilderness of Mourning
with my companions
sorrow
and suffering
Through endurance of adversity

will gain the strength
To climb to the mountain top
where upon the
Altar of God's
mercy I will pour out
