Talking with the transplant team
At most transplant centers, the evaluation will take an entire day. Most people bring a close friend or relative with them, to help them learn about transplantation. You should also bring a list of your questions.
Patient
A key person you meet is your transplant coordinator. This person is your guide through the transplant process.

You will probably meet with a nurse, a surgeon, a social worker and a nephrologist. This is a good time for you to learn as much as you can about kidney transplantation so you can decide if it's right for you. Don’t be afraid to ask those questions you've been wondering about. You need to know all of the pros and cons, and what to expect along the way.
