After earning a bachelor's in English from the University of Michigan, Ms. Jones managed a group home for developmentally disabled adults, earned a master's in Education, taught children to read, and helped foreign-born graduate students edit their theses and learn American English. A long-time Ann Arbor resident, Ms. Jones spent occasional weekends over five years proofreading the Ann Arbor Observer, a monthly magazine. Since 1990, she has developed transplant newsletters and helped create several other educational publications (including the web presence) for Michigan Transplant. Free time pursuits include studying information design and interaction design (Edward Tufte, Alan Cooper, Donald Norman, et al.), reading Dickens, learning to make not-so-sour sourdough bread, listening to public radio, learning the cello, travel, herb gardening, camping, and amusing two Norwegian Forest Cats. |
